Lunches at BIA
BIA students have the option of bringing a lunch from home (no nuts, please) or obtaining a lunch from our onsite lunch partner, Charter 1 Foods. Due to staff, safety, and Federal guidelines food deliveries for student lunches are prohibited.
BIA is pleased to announce that will be using Charter 1 Foods as our food service provider, preparing and serving both lunch and breakfast on site. Charter 1 Foods was originally created to meet the needs and importance of child nutrition in schools and communities. Charter 1 Foods’ management team has over 25 years of culinary and food service experience. They are passionate about what they do, and it shows in the quality and presentation of their meals.

Standard Meal Costs
Student Lunch – $4.75
Student Lunch (Approved Reduced Participants) – $2.00
Student Breakfast – $2.50
Student Breakfast (Approved Reduced Participants) – $1.00
Staff Lunch – $6.00
Staff Breakfast – $3.50
Extra Milk – $0.40
Extra Water -$0.50
Additional portions and a la carte items may be ordered, as well. Free and reduced lunch participant accounts will be automatically funded accordingly. Please see the Free and Lunch tab for more details.
Ordering a Meal
Students who have not placed an order for lunch, but would like lunch from the cafeteria will be offered pasta marinara as the default menu item. Student accounts will be billed for all lunches. Student access to the cafeteria may be limited if the account is in arrears for more than $10.
Breakfast is offered in the cafeteria from 7:15am – 7:30am each school day. Students have 30 min. lunch periods which are scheduled mid-day to enjoy their lunches.

Free and Reduced Lunch
As a Georgia public school, BIA offers free and reduced lunch as part of our federally funded programming. Students wishing to apply should complete the linked applications and forward to Jennifer Bradley, Assessment and Title One Coordinator, jbradley@biaschool.org.
One application per household must be completed annually. One application may be used for all students attending BIA. All applications must include one of the following:
- A Federal or Georgia Case No. ( SNAP, TANF, or FDPIR case no.) OR
- Verification of income (a copy of two of your most recent pay stubs, your most recent Federal Tax Return, or W-2 form)
Once applications have been processed a letter will be sent to the parent or guardian applicant with the eligibility status. Students that are approved participants will be eligible to receive a standard free or reduced-price meal for each meal window offered per day. Please note: upgrade portions, additional beverages, snacks, and other add-ons will be billed to the student account and are the responsibility of parents. Meals will need to be ordered directly from Charter 1 Foods through the Meal Manage platform.
