Basketball Club
The basketball club will be focused on the fundamentals. Students will pick up the pace with the introduction of positional responsibilities and game-like situations. This class not only builds the athlete’s confidence, but also broadens their understanding of the game.
By working on the techniques of ball handling, defense, passing, and shooting through game situational drills students will develop right and left hand control, as well as hand-eye coordination. They will be able to use body and footwork to enhance the ball handling effects. Students will continue their development of the game by learning how to deny the pass, understand the responsibility of zone and man defenses, and work on proper box out techniques for rebounding. Players will begin to understand when and how to be aggressive in their defense. In addition, this class will assist with active stretching to help with body flexibility, range of motion, balance, etc.
In addition to drills and practice we will play fun games — keeping everyone engaged and having a good time, while learning basketball fundamentals
