At BIA, we are excited to provide our students with Lenovo and Samsung laptops. Each student in grades 1st – 8th has their own laptop. Each kindergarten student has their own iPad for in-class learning.Coding apps such as Tynker Jr., Tynker, Scratch Jr., Kodable and more are used to apply concepts learned in their coding class. We also run web-based coding programs such as Tynker, for grades K-5 and CodeHS for grades 6-8.
The CodeHS coding platform allows students to learn several programming languages and create a finished product over the course of the school year.
Students at BIA can program their own websites, web applications, and even how to program collaboratively.
Tynker is a complete learning system that teaches kids to code.
Students, starting as early as Kindergarten, begin experimenting with visual blocks, then progress to JavaScript and Python as they design games, build apps, and make incredible projects.
KhanAcademy.org is used for HTML and CSS and JavaScript learning are used for building websites. In addition, the Code.org platform is also being used as well. These sites are used as a supplement to allow students to challenge their thinking and even to get more practice.
